I was born in Shunyi, Beijing. I got my B.S. degree in Computer Science from Peking University in 2002. After one year working for M.S. in Computer Networks and Distributed Systems Laboratory of Peking University, I decided to pursue a Ph.D. degree. I completed my Ph.D. in July 2007. When working in the Laboratory, I was the team leaders of a project supported by Chinese National Natural Science Foundation and a project supported by 973 program. I started and led the IBackup project and Upstore project, and I had a number of publications on some important conferences, e.g. SRDS, IPTPS, IEEE P2P.

Besides studying and working in Lab, I was active in social activities. I was the vice chairman of Love Society (one of the biggest society in Peking Univ.) in 2000, the chairman of Academician's Safety and Rights Protecting Society in 2001, the chairman of the Graduate Student Union of EECS school of Peking Univ. in 2003, one of the founders and the chairman of YOCSEF-GS (CCF Young Computer Scientists & Engineers Forum for Graduate Students) in 2004.

I began to work in a very small startup team (4 people) from Aug. 2004. The startup company Yeelion Inc. was legally established in Aug. 2005 in Beijing. In the end of 2006, Yeelion launched its desktop software Koowo MusicBox, which was an online music player. After one and a half years, Koowo MusicBox has had a quite large number of users, and it has been the 7th popular software in China according to the keywords searched by users in Baidu. Now I am working here as a Senior Engineer Manager, and I am in charge of the R&D of the Koowo MusicBox and the website.

Research Interests
  My interests now are,
    1) to improve the user experience of Koowo product
    2) to find and develop a killer application on Internet

My thesis work is on P2P storage system, and my interests include the availability, the reliability and the security. We built the UPStore, which aims to provide a universal peer-to-peer storage for immutable data on network overlays. IBackup is another project, which provides internet-based Incremental Backup service for Internet users.
